Phoenix light demolition service

Light Demolition Phoenix AZ

Non-structural items in Phoenix homes and yards that have to come apart before they can leave — cabinets, vanities, sheds, fences, pergolas, playsets, decking — dismantled, loaded and hauled in one visit. Price confirmed from photos before the first screw comes out.

Some things cannot be carried out until they are taken apart: a run of kitchen cabinets, a backyard shed, a sagging pergola, a swing set anchored in concrete. Light demolition is Haulo taking those apart carefully, without damaging what stays, and hauling the material away in the same visit. It is not structural work, and we will say plainly when a job needs a contractor instead.

Same-day service runs across Phoenix every day: Ahwatukee and Arcadia are closest to home, then Biltmore, Midtown, North Central and up to Desert Ridge. Alley access is common in the older neighborhoods, so tell us where a trailer can actually park.

Phoenix light demolition covers Ahwatukee, Arcadia, Biltmore, Downtown Phoenix, Midtown, North Central, Paradise Valley Village and Desert Ridge, plus the rest of Phoenix. Not sure about your street? Text the address and we confirm.

What this service handles

Non-structural, non-load-bearing items that are fastened, assembled or anchored.

  • Playsets, swing sets and trampolines
  • Above-ground pools and their decks
  • Hauling every piece away the same day
  • Kitchen and bathroom cabinets, vanities and countertops
  • Built-in shelving, closet systems and entertainment units
  • Backyard sheds and small assembled structures

What we cannot take, and what we assess first

The short version for Phoenix; the full policy is on the regional light demolition page.

We cannot take

  • Load-bearing walls, roofs, beams and anything structural
  • Electrical, gas or plumbing disconnection — those must be done first by a licensed trade
  • Anything containing asbestos or lead paint that would be disturbed
  • Work that needs a permit or an engineer

We assess first

  • Paint — we can usually take it, but send a photo of the cans first
  • Items with wiring or plumbing running through them — tell us the disconnection status
  • Concrete footings and anchors — we can often break them out; a photo tells us
  • Tile, stone and concrete that will come off with the item — priced by weight

What light demolition costs in Phoenix

Haulo prices from your photos and confirms the price before anything is loaded. Typical range: $199–$469 for a shed, fence run or cabinet set including haul-away; concrete footings add a weight-based charge. Have a budget? Say so — we would rather work with it than lose the job. What moves the number:

Prices checked 11 Sep 2026.

  • How the item is fastened or anchored, and what has to be protected around it
  • How much material it produces and whether any of it is heavy
  • Footings and anchors that need breaking out
  • Carry distance and access to the street

Worth knowing before you call anyone: Phoenix gives residential customers four bulk trash pickups a year, by appointment, one pile up to 10 cubic yards within 5 feet of the curb, and does not take hazardous waste, tires, appliances with refrigerant, construction material or concrete (phoenix.gov, checked 8 Sep 2026). Haulo is a private hauler, not the city program; the trade-off is cost against timing, access and what is accepted. More typical ranges are on the pricing page.

How light demolition works in Phoenix

  1. 01

    Send photos and access details

Text photos of the item, close-ups of the attachments or anchors, and the route out. Say whether any wiring or plumbing runs through it and whether it has been disconnected.

  2. 02

We confirm the scope, the price and an arrival window

We reply with what will come apart, what stays, the price and a window. If it looks structural or needs a trade first, we say so.

  3. 03

The crew removes the agreed items and cleans up

The crew dismantles the item, protects the surrounding surfaces, loads the material and sweeps up.

What happens to the items

Lumber, panels and fixtures go to a licensed transfer station or construction-and-demolition facility; metal is separated for recovery where a facility accepts it; concrete from footings can go to a recycler when one will take it. Haulo does not publish a diversion percentage.

Light demolition in Phoenix: the four-a-year bulk appointments or Haulo?

Phoenix’s program refuses household hazardous waste, tires, glass, appliances with refrigerant, construction material, concrete and trunks over 4 feet, so remodel debris never goes in the bulk pile. That leaves a dumpster, which sits in the driveway for a week, or Haulo, which loads the debris from where it sits and hauls it the same day, with no waiting for the next appointment, which can be weeks out.

Haulo is in Phoenix every day, with same-day service for texts before 7 p.m., Ahwatukee and Arcadia are closest to home, then Biltmore, Midtown, North Central and up to Desert Ridge included, with no waiting for the next appointment, which can be weeks out.

Phoenix pile limit

Up to 10 cubic yards within 5 ft of the curb.

Phoenix timing

Four appointments a year; out by 5:30 a.m. on the date.

Not accepted by Phoenix

Household hazardous waste, tires, glass, appliances with refrigerant, construction material, concrete and trunks over 4 feet.

Figures (four appointments a year; out by 5:30 a.m. on the date) as published on 8 Sep 2026; the six-city comparison is in the bulk trash guide, and everything Haulo does locally is on the Phoenix page.

Light Demolition questions from Phoenix

Is this the same as a contractor doing demo?
No. We take apart non-structural items and haul them. Walls, roofs, beams, anything with a permit, and anything needing an electrician or plumber first are contractor work; we will tell you if that is what you have.
Can you take out my kitchen cabinets before the remodel?
Yes, once the sink, dishwasher and any wiring in them have been disconnected by a plumber or electrician. We remove the cabinets and countertops and haul them the same day.
Will you damage the wall or the floor?
We work to leave surrounding surfaces as they are. Cabinets and shelving leave screw holes and some caulk lines; that is normal. If something needs extra protection, tell us.
Can you remove a shed with a concrete pad?
The shed, yes. Breaking out and hauling the pad is concrete work, priced by weight; we can quote it alongside the shed.
Phoenix bulk trash is by appointment now. Is that easier than calling you?
For a curbside pile of ordinary items, possibly, if one of your four yearly appointments is available soon. Haulo makes sense when the items are inside, when they include a fridge, remodel debris or concrete, or when the next appointment is weeks out.
Can I use Phoenix bulk trash instead of Haulo for light demolition?
Yes, when it fits the rules: four appointments a year; out by 5:30 a.m. on the date, up to 10 cubic yards within 5 ft of the curb, and nothing on the refused list (household hazardous waste, tires, glass, appliances with refrigerant, construction material, concrete and trunks over 4 feet). If it can wait for the next appointment, which can be weeks out and you can get it to the curb, the city is the cheaper choice and we will say so. Haulo is for what does not fit: items still inside, more than up to 10 cubic yards within 5 ft of the curb, refused materials, or a date that cannot wait for the next appointment, which can be weeks out.
What does Phoenix bulk trash refuse that Haulo will take?
Phoenix refuses household hazardous waste, tires, glass, appliances with refrigerant, construction material, concrete and trunks over 4 feet. Of those, Haulo takes refrigerant appliances, construction material, concrete and trunks over 4 feet, along with demolition debris and oversized single items. Tires and household hazardous waste stay off our trailer too; the what-we-cannot-take guide lists where they go.
