Dirt and soil removal service

Dirt & Soil Removal

Serving Mesa, the East Valley and the Phoenix metro with upfront pricing.

A pile of dirt left from a planter, trench, pool, or grading project, with nowhere to put it? Send photos. Haulo loads and hauls piled dirt and soil and plans the loads around the weight.

,

Haulo Junk Removal hauls dirt and soil that has already been dug out and piled: spoil from a trench or footing, the excess from a pool or spa dig, old planter mix, fill that a contractor left behind, and sod strips from a lawn that has been taken up. Send wide photos of the pile and the route to where a truck can park, and you get a free estimate before anything is loaded.

Dirt is heavier than it looks, and wet dirt is heavier still. The price follows the weight of the material and the loading work, not the footprint of the pile, and a large pile may need more than one load. When that is the case the number of loads and the total price are agreed in the estimate, before the crew arrives.

This page covers dirt that is loose and piled. Digging, excavation, grading, and backfilling are not part of the service; if the dirt is still in the ground, this is not the right page. Soil that may have fuel, oil, chemicals, or unknown material in it cannot be taken. Rock and gravel mixed into the dirt are fine to include; see rock removal for how that side is handled.

Dirt and soil we haul

Already dug out and piled:

  • Spoil piles from trenches, footings, and post holes
  • Excess dirt from a pool or spa dig

Why Haulo

Why dirt is handled differently.

Weight, including moisture, sets the price

A pile that was rained on weighs more than the same pile dry. The estimate is built on what the material will actually weigh to move, and we say so up front.

Loads agreed in advance

A pool dig or a long trench can produce more dirt than one load should carry. The number of loads and the total price are settled before the crew arrives.

Photos first, then a firm price

Wide shots of the pile and the parking route are enough to confirm the price for the agreed material. If the pile matches the photos, that is the price.

How a dirt pickup works.

  1. 01

    Send photos of the pile

Wide shots of the whole pile, a close-up of what is in it, and the path to where a truck can park. Mention if it has been rained on.

  2. 02

We confirm the loads and the price

You get a free estimate for the agreed material, including how many loads it will take if it is more than one.

  3. 03

    The crew loads and hauls

Our crew does the shovelling and loading. The pile can stay where it is; moving it to the curb first is not needed.

  4. 04

    Cleared, then paid

The area where the pile sat is swept of loose material. Payment follows the completed work under the agreed terms.

What affects the price of dirt removal.

Dirt is priced on weight and loading work rather than a visible volume, so there are no flat rates here. The estimate is built from:

  • How much dirt there is, by weight as much as by pile size
  • Whether it is dry or has been rained on
  • Whether it is piled where a truck can get close, or spread out
  • Carry distance, gates, steps, and anything the crew must walk it past
  • Whether more than one load is needed for the agreed material
  • Rock, roots, sod, or debris mixed in that must be loaded with it

Text photos to (480) 299-4648 and the estimate comes back with the load count and the price for the agreed material. See how Haulo pricing works for the general approach.

Dirt and soil removal questions.

Can you dig it out for me?
No. Dirt removal covers material that has already been dug out and piled. Excavation, trenching, and grading need a different provider; once the dirt is out and piled, send photos and we will haul it.
How is dirt removal priced?
By the weight of the material and the loading work, not the size of the pile. Wet dirt weighs more than dry. Send photos of the whole pile; the estimate confirms the price for the agreed material and whether it needs more than one load.
Does it matter if the pile got rained on?
Yes, because water adds weight. Tell us, or photograph it as it is, and the estimate will account for it. Mud that cannot be shovelled and loaded is outside the service until it dries.
Can you take dirt with rocks and roots in it?
Yes, when it is shown in the photos. Mixed spoil from a dig is normal. Large roots and stumps are quoted separately; concrete chunks in the pile are quoted as concrete.
What about soil that might be contaminated?
We cannot take it. Soil with fuel, oil, chemicals, septic, or unknown material in it needs a licensed hazardous-waste provider. If you are not sure, say so before booking.
Can you take old sod and turf?
Yes. Sod that has been cut into strips or rolled up is loaded like soil. Grass still growing in the ground is not; it needs to be cut and lifted first.

Still not sure about something? Text a photo to (480) 299-4648 and we’ll tell you.
