Sun City is unincorporated. No mayor, no town staff, and no municipal bulk collection — Maricopa County’s position is that refuse, bulk trash and household hazardous waste in unincorporated areas are provided by private services. What gets taken away is set by whichever hauler a household subscribes to, not by a published city rule.
That catches people out, because the deed restrictions are stricter than most cities’ are. SCHOA enforces them, and they are specific: trash containers are not to be visible from a neighbouring property except at collection, and rubbish is not to accumulate on a lot. A pile in the side yard is not just untidy here, it is a deed-restriction problem.
The practical version: there is no free monthly pickup to wait for. If it is furniture, an appliance, or the contents of a house being downsized, it moves when someone hauls it. That is the gap we fill out here — not competing with a city program, because there is not one.
